I ended things when I didn't see it going anywhere.
If tinder or grindr had existed, I would not have been on them. There's 0 ethical risk if you're doing that.
I had a similar concern when I first moved to my university town.
I was only 26, and teaching students, as a masters degree is the terminal degree in my field.
So, I was pretty worried my profile would show up in student searches.
I also feared I'd be "discovered" by a student and would be ridiculed. On all my profiles, I said I was a prof and was trying to meet someone for long-term, including having kids.
