Mr Bryan also said CCTV at a petrol station showed Ashley buying cigarettes for the man as the he 'was not fit enough to get out'.
The trial, expected to last three weeks, continues.
One of the rape victims, who was being treated for HIV, was given an 'ultimatum' to meet Ashley who said he had 'terminal colon cancer'.
